What are the different types of passes offered for the 2022 Athena Film Festival at Barnard College?

For the Athena Film Festival 2022, there will be 3 ways that you will be able to access the festival:

In-Person – Join us at Barnard College to attend the festival in person from March 11-13.

Online – Available nationally across the US (including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico) you will be able to access our Virtual Film Festival from March 11-20.

Hybrid (In-Person & Online) – A hybrid pass will allow you in-person access to the festival at Barnard College, in addition to online screenings from March 11-20.

All passes have a special rate for student attendance.

All pass and ticket purchases are non-refundable. In the event that in-person festival events are canceled or postponed, all in-person tickets/passes will be transitioned to virtual tickets/passes and the price difference will be refunded.

Will the same programming be offered for both the in-person and virtual festivals?

We are aiming to offer the same programming for both the in-person and online festivals though we cannot guarantee it.

I live outside of the US. Will I be able to view the films if I purchase a virtual pass?

Will discounts be offered to Barnard Alumnae?

Is the Athena Film Festival accessible?

When does the festival schedule and full line-up get announced?

The festival schedule and line-up announcement will be in the early spring.

How do I get involved in the Athena Film Festival?

Submission Questions

How do I submit my film to the Athena Film Festival?

You can submit your short film via FilmFreeway. If you have a feature-length film that you would like to submit to the festival, please email athenafilmfestival@gmail.com with the title of your film, a full synopsis, and how it fits our criteria.

How do I submit my script to the Athena List?

You can submit your script via FilmFreeway. We do not charge a submission fee for the Athena List.

How do I submit my feature film script or tv pilot to the Athena Writer’s Lab?

You can submit your script via FilmFreeway. The Screenplay portal can be found here, and the TV portal can be found here. 

Do you offer submission fee waivers?

The Athena Film Festival charges submission fees for short films and for the Athena Film Festival Writer’s Lab.

This year to ensure BIWOC voices are amplified at our festival and in recognition of the extra barriers BIWOC artists face in the film industry, we are offering submission fee waivers to films written, directed or produced by BIWOC artists. We are also offering submission fee waivers to films that have suffered financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Click here for more info.
