An Intensive Pitch-Training and Storytelling-Strengthening Program for Documentarians
Athena’s annual Documentary Pitch Program (formerly Works in Progress) supports documentarians working on women-centered projects. The program includes dynamic coaching and peer mentorship, culminating in a live pitch to industry representatives and introductions to a network of potential supporters and partners. Finished films are invited to screen at the annual festival.
Each filmmaking team will work with Peabody Award-winning filmmaker/teacher/Co-Founder of Chicken & Egg Picture, Judith Helfand. This program is underwritten by Secret Sauce Media, whose founder, Julie Parker Benello, is a Barnard alum.
