Athena Film Festival Crew: Ticket Taker
The Athena Film Festival at Barnard College seeks to hire Athena Crewmembers to join us as Ticket Takers for the 2024 Athena Film Festival (Feb 29 -March 3, 2024). The Crewmembers will provide the following services:
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of venues for film screenings, panels, and events;
- Responsible for greeting patrons, scanning tickets and passes, ushering, organizing seating, and showing patrons to exits during screenings, panels, and events;
- Answer general questions;
- Work directly with the Venue Managers to prepare the house for opening (e.g. picking up stray garbage, resetting stanchions, etc)
- Identify tickets that should be for other events and inform the patrons of where they will need to be;
- Assist with maintaining prompt run time of events;
- Show patrons where to find exits, bathrooms, and other venues;
- Become familiar with various event layouts;
- Seat patrons in an orderly fashion;
- Count and record ticket and passes scans as they are collected;
- Enhance general customer service and hospitality and mediating concerns;
- Ensure everyone adheres to health and wellness rules;
- Address problems as they arise and reporting them to the Venue Coordinator;
Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior venue work experience ideal, some customer service experience required;
- Outstanding communication skills;
- Calm, patient demeanor;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Strong computer skills, Internet, and mobile-savvy;
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Term of Contract: February 29 – March 3, 2024, approximately 30 hours total (shifts are between 5 and 6 hours) over the course of 4 days
Compensation: $600.00 One-Time Stipend (for students working fewer than 4 shifts, the stipend will be pro-rated accordingly)
This job will require you to work in person, on campus, on February 29, March 1, March 2, and March 3.
Athena Film Festival Crew: Box Office
The Athena Film Festival at Barnard College seeks to hire Athena Crewmembers to join us as members of our Box Office Team for the 2024 Athena Film Festival (Feb 29 -March 3, 2024). The Crewmembers will provide the following services:
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of the box office,
- Responsible for greeting patrons, giving them their passes, selling passes and tickets, and answering our attendees’ questions.
- Work directly with the AFF Box Office Staff to prepare the opening of the Box Office;
- Process concession payments for attendees;
- Show patrons where to find exits, bathrooms, and other venues;
- Become familiar with various event layouts;
- Enhance general customer service and hospitality and mediating concerns;
- Ensure everyone adheres to health and wellness rules;
- Address problems as they arise and report them to the Operations Coordinator;
Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior box office work experience is ideal; some customer service experience is required;
