Athena Film Festival Crew: Box Office
The Athena Film Festival at Barnard College seeks to hire Athena Crewmembers to join us as members of our Box Office Team for the 2026 Athena Film Festival (March 6-8, 2026). The Crewmembers will provide the following services:
The Crewmembers will provide the following services:
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of box office,
- Responsible for greeting patrons, giving them their passes, selling passes and tickets, and answering our attendees’ questions.
- Work directly with the AFF Box Office Staff to prepare the opening of the Box Office’
- Show patrons where to find exits, bathrooms, and other venues;
- Become familiar with various event layouts;
- Enhance general customer service and hospitality and mediate concerns;
- Address problems as they arise and report them to the Box Office and Ticketing Manager;
Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior box office work experience is ideal; some customer service experience is required;
- Outstanding communication skills;
- Calm, patient demeanor;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Strong computer skills, Internet, and mobile-savvy;
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Term of Contract: March 6-8, 2026, approximately 25 hours total (shifts are between 6 and 7 hours) over the course of 3 days
Compensation: $600.00 One-Time Stipend (for students working fewer than 4 shifts, the stipend will be pro-rated accordingly)

Athena Film Festival Crew: Volunteer Assistant
The Athena Film Festival at Barnard College seeks to hire an Athena Crewmemeber to serve as a volunteer assistant to the Volunteer Manager for the 2026 Athena Film Festival (March 6-8, 2026). The Crewmember will provide the following services:
- Assist the Volunteer Manager in overseeing and managing volunteers;
- Set up and breakdown Volunteer Headquarters;
- Serve as point of contact for festival volunteers during the 2026 Athena Film Festival
Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior volunteer work experience is ideal; some customer service experience is required;

Athena Film Festival Crew: AFF DOC PITCH
The Athena Film Festival at Barnard College is looking for a Student Lead to support the production of our AFF Doc Pitch showcase at the 2026 Athena Film Festival. The student will work closely with Peabody Award-winning filmmaker and program Producer, Judith Helfand, supporting her throughout the process. The term for this internship will be January 19 – March 9, 2026, with up to 10 hours of work per week. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and experience in administrative work. Interest in documentary filmmaking is a big plus.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide crucial administrative and organizational assistance to help the program facilitator with tasks and deadlines,
- Assist with all scheduling,
- Keep track of the project materials, and assist in organizing and editing materials when needed,
- Create informational packet and slides for the showcase,
- Design invitation for showcase and assist with organizing invite list,
- Assist in the production of the annual showcase, running slides, greeting guests, handing out materials,
- Assist and offer support to other Athena Film Festival staff as needed.
Total Stipend Payment: $1,500
Athena Film Festival Crew: Guest Services Student Lead
The Athena Film Festival at Barnard College seeks to hire Athena Crewmembers to serve as a Guest Services Student Leads to assist the Guest Services Team for the 2025 Athena Film Festival (March 6-8, 2026). The Crewmember will provide the following services:
- Assist the guest services team with emails and other communications with festival VIPs, including filmmakers, panelists/speakers, sponsors, awardees, etc.;
- Serve as an ambassador for the festival which requires a knowledge of the weekend’s schedule and various campus venues;
- Serve as a runner for the team which includes, but is not limited to, greeting guests at the main gates, ushering them to their venue, handing over passes and gift bags, etc.;
- Restock guest services HQ with refreshments and swag, as needed;
- Ensure a pleasant customer service experience for festival attendees;
- On Opening Night (3/6), co-lead the Guest Services table with special attention given to checking in pass holders and updating the Guest Services database.
Compensation: $600.00 One-Time Stipend for approximately 30 hours over 4 days. Shifts are between six and eight hours).
