About the Festival

The Athena Film Festival focuses on what makes a leader – examining the values women leaders share and exploring leadership across race, class, and culture.  The Festival highlights the diversity of women’s leadership in both real life and the fictional world, illuminating the stories of women from across the globe who have made a difference in their countries and their communities.

The Athena Film Festival is an engaging weekend of feature films, documentaries and shorts that highlight women’s leadership in real life and the fictional world. Conversations with directors and Hollywood stars. Workshops for filmmakers. Sold-out audiences and industry buzz. All at the most sought-after women’s college in the nation, in the heart of New York.

The Athena Film Festival is a collaboration of the Athena Center for Leadership Studies at Barnard College and Women and Hollywood.
