Director’s Bio: Maris Curran is a Bay Area filmmaker. Her recent short, Margarita, premiered internationally at the Huesca International Film Festival in Spain and in the US at the HBO NY Latino Film Festival. Her first feature, Five Nights in Maine, participated in IFP’s International Co-production Market. She was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship, was selected for the Cine Qua Non Writers Lab in Mexico and has twice been a finalist for the Sundance Screenwriter’s Lab. She graduated from Smith College, the Whitney Independent Study Program and the Art Institute of Chicago, where she received a Princess Grace Award for her thesis film.
