One of the missions of the Los Angeles Women In Film Foundation is to capture and preserve the legacies of extraordinary women working in all areas of the film and television industries to preserve their unique history in the entertainment industry, as well as to serve as knowledge and inspiration for future generations of women.
The Women in Film Foundation’s Legacy Series has documented the women and interviewed extraordinary, iconic women whose careers are rooted in the myths and legends of filmmaking. They formed unions and were blacklisted. They share inspirational stories of personal and professional triumphs with great humor and wit, fortitude and candor.
They include producer/choreographer/actress Debbie Allen; director Martha Coolidge; producer Laura Ziskin; actress Lupe Ontiveros, director Penny Marshall, director of photography Nancy Schreiber and many others in front of and behind the camera.
Please join us for a screening of short selections from the Legacy Series and a discussion with several women who will share their tales from the trenches.
