Holly Hunter plays a mother suffering the loss of her adult son, who sets off on a journey to find answers to the questions surrounding his death. Strange Weather is a story of forgiveness as this grieving mother looks inward to find a way to move forward.

Filmmaker Bio:

Writer-director Katherine Dieckmann’s most recent feature film is Strange Weather (2016). Her other films are Motherhood (2009), Diggers (2006, TIFF premiere) and A Good Baby (2000). She was the originating director on the groundbreaking serial The Adventures of Pete & Pete,  and has directed music videos for R.E.M., Aimee Mann, Wilco, and Vic Chesnutt, among others. She is an Associate Professor at Columbia University’s School of the Arts Film Program, where she teaches screenwriting, and a Creative Advisor for The Sundance Institute. Dieckmann divides her time between New York City and upstate New York.
