Successful companies know that diversity adds value, increasing both innovation and the bottom line. But too often film studios and businesses in general, think about diversity only in terms of their own employees, motivated to fix homogeneity by notions of fairness or to avoid liability. Shouldn’t we be asking a wider set of questions about diversity? Is our leadership inclusive and accepting of difference? Do our stories and the characters onscreen reflect the world? Are our audiences filled with a wide range of fans? Do our suppliers include a wide mixture of experience and heritage?
