Lady Parts Justice in the New World Order

Held Auditorium

  • Director: Ruth Leitman
  • Type: Series
  • Year: 2019
  • Language: English
  • Length: 90 min
  • Screening: Mar 1 06:00 PM

Led by The Daily Show’s co-creator Lizz Winstead, the Lady Parts Justice League barnstorms the country to support abortion providers and defend women’s reproductive rights. Using comedy as the ultimate weapon to mobilize voters for the 2018 elections, they use a boots-on-the-ground strategy to protect bodily autonomy for all.

Q&A with filmmaker Ruth Leitman, Lizz Winstead and members of Lady Parts Justice to follow the screening.

Filmmaker bio: Ruth Leitman has a BFA in Film and Photography from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Through her company Ruthless Films, she has directed six feature-length documentary films that have received funding from Rockefeller Foundation, Paul Robeson Fund, TriBeCa Film Institute, Fledgling Fund, and Illinois Humanities Council. Her films focus on women and those whose lives have faced a lack of opportunity, but who are survivors.
