
Ten-year-old Hanan lives in a fishing village on the coast of the Arabian Peninsula. She has always wanted to join her father on his nighttime fishing trips, but he doesn’t want her to come along. In the morning, he always returns with wonderful black pearls, but where do they come from? Does he harbor a secret?

Filmmaker Bio:
Shahad Ameen was born and raised in Jeddah. Realizing at an early age that she could not realize her dream of being a professional football player in Saudi Arabia, she turned to filmmaking to share the dreadful and beautiful stories around her. Ameen obtained a bachelor’s degree in video production and film studies from the Metropolitan Film School at the University of West London, then worked on projects including the music video for Sami Yusuf ’s ‘Healing’. Her films include Our Own Musical and Leila’s Window, which had its premiere at the Gulf Film Festival. She is currently working on the web drama On Wheels.
