Synopsis: Ann Richards’ Texas is a new feature length documentary about the late Texas Governor Ann Richards (1933 -2006) one of the most beloved Democratic politicians of her day. Richards, who served from 1991-1995 was the last statewide Democrat elected statewide in the land of George W. Bush and Rick Perry. Richards was known as a no-nonsense politician who fought against special interests and was never afraid to speak her mind.  In 1994 she lost her re-election bid to George W. Bush.  Not your typical politician, Richards was good friends with Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin and involved over her life with all of the major civil rights movements.
